Lots of Snowy's Around

Postby Karen on Wed Feb 25, 2009 8:57 am

Hi All,
Joyce (Photorovr) and I were up on the 4th line yesterday and saw we believe to be at least 5 different snowies...3 females and 2 males. All within a period of time that we traveled and distance that we are certain they were all different. At one point a police car stopped to talk to us...we were in sight of the mennonite school...it seems the school had reported seeing a grey van around 2 pm many days and they were concerned for their children. We did indicate to the officer that this road was well know to many birders and photographers for the snowy's presence. A great afternoon! The posted images are all large crops and seemingly different birds except one of the males :D .

....and you didn't call :(
I would have enjoyed a day of shooting with two ladies. Owls are just a bonus!

Great shots Karen! It's nice to hear they are still in the area. It must be great to see so many different birds.

I spent the better part of Saturday and Sunday looking for Snowies but did not see any. I think I may have been too far south ... we never ventured north of 109 (oh so close ... yet so far away). Hopefully they will stick around until the weekend when I have a chance to go again!

Once again ... nice shooting!
