Purple martins

Are there good spots with large martin house colonies near Hamilton/KW? I've heard there's one in Rondeau, though perhaps there's one closer to home. If someone can confirm Rondeau that would also be great.

Hi Greg,

There are two houses with nesting Purple Martins at Rondeau.
They are within the park, right at the little General Store not far from the entrance.

Good Luck.
Karl.

Thanks Karl. I will have to take a trip down that way sometime.

Last time we were down to BSC in Port Rowan there were several nesting in the houses they have there. That would be much closer than Rondeau for ya,' I am sure. Then you can always visit the Provincial Park, and the Old Cut banding station woods for some Warbler action while down there. Plus the marsh always produces something interesting.
